Support Groups

Club Kali

Supports LGBTQ+ people from South Asian backgrounds to reduce isolation by providing safe social events. Promotes the unique needs of South Asian people and provides appropriate support and interventions.

DOSTI 

DOSTI is a social and support group for South Asian and Middle Eastern lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and questioning people. It is a safe space to talk about common issues, make friends and get involved in cultural activities and celebrations.

GIN: Gay Indian & South Asian LGBTQ+ Network

A sociable friendly networking and support group for the LGBTQIA community of Indian origin and their friends and allies that would like to get to know each other all over the UK. Their aim is to support and connect the LGBTQIA community of Indian heritage and the wider diaspora with each other, and their friends and allies in the United Kingdom. 

Hidayah LGBT

Provides support and welfare for LGBTQI+ Muslims and promote social justice and education about our community to counter discrimination, prejudice and injustice.

Naz and Matt Foundation

A face-to-face support group, created to help bring Parents and LGBTQI+ (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, trans, queer/questioning and intersex) individuals, from religious and faith backgrounds, closer together. 

PEEPAL Peer Support Group

A friendly social peer support group space for people of South Asian and/or mixed heritage living with HIV. The meetings are held face-to-face at NAZ's office. This group is inclusive of cis and trans women and also gender non-conforming people who feel comfortable centering from the South Asian experience. 

South Asian HangOuts

A twice monthly friendly and welcoming online Zoom social support group for gay, bi and trans men who live in the UK (or have lived or have strong affiliation with the UK) and who have South Asian heritage, to come together and connect with one another in a safe and friendly non-judgmental environment.

The Suryan Collective

Has different groups and events each month that provide safer and more supportive spaces for LGBTQIA+ people with South Asian heritage to connect and learn from each other. These are online social support spaces and creative workshops. They also run an annual celebration event every year to welcome LGBTQ+ queer South Asian people.

Yarana

A face-to-face support group has been created to help bring South Asian & Middle Eastern LGBTQI+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer/ questioning and intersex) people together. Their aim is to create a safe and welcoming space and promote positive health and wellbeing.


Organisations

Apanjon

A Bangladeshi LGBTQ+ community organisation that aims to campaign for equality and justice for LGBTQ+ people in Bangladesh. They provide services including advice on sexual and mental health, advice on welfare motivation, one-to-one counselling, and legal advice.

British Asian LGBTI

An online forum which aims to help unite this community, reduce isolation and discrimination faced, defend global LGBTQ+ rights including repealing Section 377 in India and Asia. They work to improve queer visibility, reduce homophobia and racism, improve understanding of South Asian LGBTQ+ mental health issues, and promote acceptance.

Finding a Voice

A voluntary-led LGBT organisation for the South Asian community from Birmingham South Asians LGBTQ+.

Persian LGBT

Aims to bring the newly arrived, Asylum Seekers, and Refugee LGBTQ+ members of the community together to develop welcoming safe place environments. Does not provide immigration advice of any kind. There are Immigration and other solicitors that members can be sign-posted to.

Sarbats LGBT+ Sikhs

Creates awareness, tackles homophobia/biphobia/transphobia and builds bridges within and beyond our communities. They are based in the UK but their reach is global and they try to reflect that in their online resources, blogs and information. They host regular online events open to all, as well as in-person events mostly in the UK.

South Asian Heritage Month

Seeks to elevate the prominence of British South Asian history and heritage in the UK through education, arts, culture, celebration and commemoration. Their mission is to deepen people’s understanding of the rich and diverse contributions of South Asian communities to British society, promote intercultural dialogue, and foster greater social cohesion among communities.

Wisethoughts

A LGBTQI+ & Global Majority Arts Charity based in Haringey, London. They create dynamic local, national and international arts initiatives and deliver services that help address social justice issues for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex (LGBTQI+) and Global Majority communities.


Counselling

Naz Project

Counselling and psychotherapy services available for adults and couples from global majority populations and their partners. Provides support for the complexities arising due to identities be it ethnic, gender, sexual and relational, or immigration status.

Gaysians

Focuses on individual and collective healing. Promote organisations providing mental health, housing, and International support.


Healthcare

Naz Project

A sexual health charity working to address sexual health inequalities in Black, Brown and Global Majority communities. Provide culturally specific interventions to communities disproportionately impacted by poor sexual, reproductive and HIV outcomes.
